There’s a lot of interesting facts relating to the Smileys. According to Wikipedia, A smiley (sometimes called a happy face or smiley face) is a stylized representation of a smiling humanoid face that is a part of popular culture worldwide. The term “Smiley” is also sometimes used as a generic term for any emoji/emoticon.

July 17th is also ‘World Emoji Day’. Did you know that?

The technology is advancing day by day and we have a wide array of emojis available nowadays. But the smiley still remains an amazing way of sharing how you feel and making people feel that expression.

World Emoji day celebrates the history of these emotional expressions and encourages you to be exceptionally emotive. After all, it’s always nice to let someone know how you’re feeling when you write, isn’t it?

Also, I just found that the word “Emoji” stands for: E (for picture) and moji (for character). Its quite interesting to know at times, how a certain word became so popular and what it actually means.

With so many varieties of Smileys available today, you can tell your entire story without even using a single word.

So, I know today is no more a World Emoji Day, but Smileys are forever.
